DESCRIPTION:Suzanne McGladdery will run this session. \nEvery child has a story\, and for adopted children\, understanding and sharing that story can be a big part of their healing and growth. \nThis relaxed\, hands-on workshop is designed especially for adoptive parents who want to: \n\nUnderstand what Life Story Work is all about\nExplore creative ways to help children make sense of their experiences and adoption\nLearn how stories can help children process feelings\, build confidence\, and strengthen family bonds\nTake away practical ideas to use at home in everyday life\n\nWe’ll look at how Life Story Work can help children move from confusing feelings to a clearer sense of who they are\, and how it supports their emotional wellbeing and recovery from past trauma. \nThere will be plenty of time to share ideas\, reflect\, and think about how these approaches can fit into your family’s journey. \nThis workshop is open to all adoptive parents. DESCRIPTION:Do you sometimes find your child’s behaviour hard to understand? Do some of\nYour parenting techniques seem ineffective.\n We are running a course for adoptive parents\, looking specifically at the impact of\nchildren’s early experiences on their behaviour and emotional well-being. We will\nbe exploring alternative parenting ideas and strategies.\nThe course will run for 10 sessions on Tuesday mornings from 10 am-12 pm. These\nwill be online via MS TEAMS.\nThe first session will be held on 9/9/25 and the final session on 25/11/25\, with\nbreaks at the start and end of October. DESCRIPTION:Kids and teens aged 8 -16 years are invited to join us for a fun-filled session of forest school activities\, including fire building\, wood whittling\, and creative activities. \nMatt and his team will teach techniques and guide participants through activities. DESCRIPTION:Social group for children and babies (and their parents/carers). \nWe follow a simple format for the session: introductions to begin with\, and then lots of playing (and some chatting for the grown-ups). Possibly a song or a story at the end 😊.  And\, there are refreshments available. We sometimes attempt a simple craft activity. \nOur first few sessions have been really well-received with lots of positive feedback. SUMMARY:10 Online Week Therapeutic Parenting course - for existing adopters
DESCRIPTION:Do you sometimes find your child’s behaviour hard to understand? Do some of your parenting techniques seem ineffective?\nWe are running a course for adoptive parents looking specifically at the impact of children’s early experiences on their behaviour and emotional well-being. We will be exploring alternative parenting ideas and strategies.\nThe course runs for 10 weeks starting on 25/4 and the last session on 11/7\, there is a break for half-term.\nSessions run from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday mornings\, they are held online using MS Teams.\nThis course is aimed at families whose children have been living with them for at least six months\, with children under the age of 10 years (please state child’s age when enquiring)\n\nPlease contact tina.fagan@adoptionwest.co.uk for more details (please include your name and your child’s name and age in your email).
